Our legacy portfolio boasts a number of key regional players across sectors, leaders in their respective industries. Two of the OEl’s most notable investments are significant holdings in Etisalat and Du, two of the more progressive and robust telecommunications companies in the Middle East and North Africa region. In addition, our investment portfolio is truly global. It incorporates a solid network of reputed and world-class fund managers.
Governance
OEI adheres to strong governance principles, and upholds the highest standards of investment practice with integrity, responsibility and accountability. A carefully selected Board of Directors sets the policy directions and guidelines on investment strategies and objectives, risk parameters and asset allocation. Reporting to the Cabinet of the Federal Government, the Board of Directors oversees the performance of the management, with the CEO primarily responsible for overseeing the investment and operational performance of the organization. Board committees guide investment allocations, risk tolerance and approve investment recommendations emanating from OEI investment managers. Board committees have also been set up to oversee critical areas – policy formulation and execution; audit and risk management; as well as governance, compensation and human resources.
